The African Wild Dog

The African wild dog, also known as Cape hunting dogs or painted dogs, roam the sparse woodland of the savannah's in Africa. The dogs Latin name  Lycaon pictus means painted dog.

These animals are endangered canines, who are very social in their packs, they will share food, assist ill and help weak members, females will have up to 2-20 pups in a litter.
The hunters of the pack will go out and hunt antelopes, birds, rodents and tackle wildebeests.
African wild dogs are carnivores who only eat meat, they hunt and go every where in packs, their large ears are good for listening skills and to hear things from far distance.

Wild African dogs are bushy tailed large dogs, with blotchy fur and big ears, they make the noise of a monkey, or a mysterious star wars creature.
These long-legged canines have only four toes per foot, unlike other dogs, which have five toes on their forefeet.
