African Lion- Panthera leo

The African Lion, are very protective animals of their prides, especially males.
Lions are mammals, they feed on meat (Carnivores), and in a group they are called a pride.
  
The expectation of a lions,life span is about 10-14 years or to an adult.
A Female lion, is a lioness. 
Lions are normally, known as brave, or the king of the jungle, they are also used in a lot of movies such as:

• Zoo keeper..........

Lions are beautiful, creatures and are part of the big cat family. The relative size compared to a 6ft man is roughly...  


Only male lions, enjoy boasting their manes, the hair that en-circles their head. They also, do this to take over territory or urine over other lions urine.
The female lions are the pride hunters, They often work together to prey upon antelopes, zebras, wildebeest, and other large animals of the open grasslands.
