Elephants are the largest land animal on earth, they are slightly larger than the Asian elephant, but Asian elephants have rounder ears. Elephant ears radiate heat to help keep the animal cool, in the humid climate.
Elephants are mammals and are herbivores, elephants also role in water and spray it on their bodies to keep cool.
Male and Female elephants used to use their task to dig for water and food or for stripping bark off trees, but now male elephants use tusks for fighting!
When elephants are in a group it is called a herd.
An adult elephant can consume 300 pounds of food everyday!! WOW Female elephants (cows) live in family herds with their young, but adult males (bulls) tend to roam lonely on their own.
